Abstract

It is possible to identify assigned meanings in the writing process within historiographical practice because, in response to the need of apprehending and understanding reality, human beings construct meaning epistemologically through the logic of social systems. The aim of this text is to analyze, as a postmodern theoretical reflection, meaning construction within historiographical practice and to describe why history as a discipline must heed the call of uncertainty, explained by the concepts of contingency and observation.
